EnergySolutions

EnergySolutions (formerly Envirocare) is the largest commercial nuclear waste dump in the United States, accepting on average 96% of the country's commercial nuclear waste. Using its tremendous influence in the political and regulatory arenas, the company has expanded its dump numerous times to take more and hotter waste, and even convinced lawmakers recently to give up most of their oversight over nuclear waste disposal at the facility.

Piling nuclear waste in Utah's West Desert is a far cry from a 'solution' to any of our nation's energy needs, but EnergySolutions is on a worldwide mission to convince investors and government officials here and abroad otherwise.

Italian nuclear waste? No, Grazie!

EnergySolutions wants to import Italian nuclear waste for ultimate disposal in Utah. The public comment period drew nearly 4,000 comments overwhelmingly against the proposal to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). But with EnergySolutions suing to dump this waste in Utah, we need national legislation to ban foreign nuclear waste.
